DS3 Crypto was founded by Gavin Phillips, a business leader, manager and mentor with over 25 years of expertise across financial markets and digital assets.

Gavin is passionate about bringing professionalism, integrity and the highest business standards into crypto.

Gavin has built businesses, managed teams and held advisory and mentorship roles across the world’s largest and most respected investment banks, multi-billion dollar hedge funds and leading institutions in crypto. He has led sales and trading teams and held leadership roles across equities, distressed credit, derivatives, macro and crypto products.

Alissa Ostrove

Chief Operating Officer

Alissa leads DS3 ‘s approach across its product suite, operations and growth. She also takes an active role leading projects with key clients across DS3's portfolio.

A crypto industry veteran, Alissa joined after a 6 year tenure as CCData's Chief of Staff, where she played a key operational and strategic role across commercial operations, partnerships, marketing and events, research, compliance, and regulatory affairs. Having transitioned from an early career in humanitarian aid and non-profit management, her passion for digital assets brought her into the sector in 2018 after completing her Master’s from the London School of Economics.

She brings a unique combination of crypto-native experience alongside her strategic and operational leadership to DS3.

Jamie Knowles

Chief Commercial Officer

Jamie is our Chief Commercial Officer. He is responsible for origination, management and sales leadership with our key clients.

Jamie joined from Galaxy Digital, where he oversaw their sales distribution, establishing a significant European footprint across both the native digital asset and more traditional financial market customer segments. Prior to this, he spent 15 years within Investment Banking focusing on Special Situations and Event Driven Sales Trading at Bank of America, Credit Suisse and JP Morgan.

He holds a vast network of relationships across both crypto and traditional finance with a strong focus on hedge funds. He has been personally involved in crypto since 2017 and brings his deep knowledge, professionalism and drive to the DS3 leadership team.

Michael Ashby

Senior Strategic Advisor

Michael has a deep breadth of experience across digital asset and traditional financial markets, which has been invaluable to DS3 Crypto.

He is currently the CEO of AlgoQuant, a quantitative trading firm focused on providing world class structured products. He has worked with some great teams; most recently he worked at Point72 Asset Management in New York as Head of Digital Asset Strategic Implementation and before this as Chief Operating Officer at Meraki Global Advisors, highlighting his expertise in operational and strategic growth.

Michael's extensive experience includes significant positions at Thunderbird Partners LLP and Ziff Brothers Investments. In addition to his roles at AlgoQuant and DS3, Michael serves as a strategic advisor to several innovative firms, including VenHedge, Membrane Labs and Vequity.
